Photo 11725611A photograph of a shrine set into the roots of a large banyan tree. Thick aerial roots frame an arched opening that leads into a dark niche holding a black stone lingam on a square base, with a single lit oil lamp flame in front of it. White jasmine garlands and red flower petals are scattered around the base and on the stone threshold, and a red rose sits on the right-hand ledge. Pale stone walls line a sandy path leading up to a granite step. No people are visible.2012-05-11December 08 20122012-12-08Photo 11725125April 24 20122012-04-24A photograph of a shrine nestled among thick, gnarled roots of a large banyan tree. Inside a dark alcove sits a black stone Naga (serpent) sculpture with a hooded, multi-headed form, a small oil lamp burning at its base. Water and scattered petals lie on the stone floor of the shrine, with pale stone border slabs in the foreground and sandy ground beside the tree.
