It holds a trident-like staff in one hand and a raised hand in front of a backdrop of dense red roses and green leaves. A blurred feathered fan or whisk and a partially visible second figure appear at the left edge. No living person is clearly visible apart from blurred hands at the frame edges. Decorative flower arrangement and ornate adornments suggest temple alankaram decoration.2013-02-24July 21 20102010-07-21A standing deity murti of Murugan (Skanda) decorated for worship, with a tall gold crown set with red and green stones, a gold trident-spear held in the right hand, and a raised left hand. The figure wears layered gold and gemstone necklaces, a jewelled chest ornament, a red and cream dhoti and an ornate gold shoulder garland draped over red velvet. Behind it hang pale pink silk curtains and a green and gold brocade cloth. The statue is the only figure present, and no living person appears in the scene.2015-07-11
