Photo 11724222 +1 copiesA procession inside a decorated hall with gold-painted pillars and a red-draped altar niche. A large cutout portrait of a smiling bearded man in saffron robes, wearing a pink-and-white turban and a flower garland, is carried forward on a board by devotees. A large ornate umbrella with coloured tassels shades the procession. Women in maroon and rust sarees hold their palms together in namaskar, and men in saffron and orange robes walk alongside, one carrying a leafy garland. The portrait is a printed image, not the physical person, and the cutout bearer's appearance matches the printed figure's presentation, so swamiji is set to depiction with the probable label for the portrait's turban and saffron robes.2018-12-22Photo 11724236 +2 copiesPhoto 11724123 +2 copiesA procession inside a temple hall carries a large framed portrait of a smiling bearded man in a pink turban and orange garments, garlanded with red and yellow flower strands and a gold necklace; the portrait is borne on a palanquin-style carrier beneath a decorated umbrella fringed with multicoloured tassels. Women in deep maroon and red saris with gold necklaces walk in front with palms pressed together in namaskar, and devotees in orange and white dhotis, one with long matted hair and a rudraksha-style necklace, follow the carrier. Golden pillars, red drapes and a gilded shrine frame the background, and a man in a white kurta stands at right with folded hands.2018-12-22Photo 11724107 +1 copiesA procession inside a temple-style hall with gold-painted pillars and red drapes. A large ornate parasol with fringed edges is held above a man in saffron-orange robes and an orange turban, garlanded with marigold and white flower strands, who holds an object wrapped in cloth. Nearby, a man with long dark matted hair wears a white dhoti and a beaded necklace. Drummers in orange cloth and beaded garlands play a large hand drum on the right. Women in deep red and maroon saris and orange shawls walk with palms pressed together, and bystanders in white and pink stand along the route. Framed portraits hang on the walls above.2018-12-22Photo 11724079 +1 copiesA procession moves through a decorated hall with a golden-trimmed interior and red-draped alcoves. At the centre, a man in saffron-orange dhoti and a tall orange turban walks under a large multicoloured ceremonial parasol, wearing a flower garland of white and yellow blossoms and standing as if carried in a procession. Around him, women in maroon and rust saris press their palms together, and young drummers in orange cloth and beaded necklaces play large drums. A man in white dhoti with a rudraksha-style necklace walks beside the group, while onlookers in white and pastel clothes watch from the sides. Gold garlands and banners hang along the walls.2018-12-22Photo 11724080 +1 copiesPhoto 11724078 +1 copiesDecember 22 20182018-12-22
