Fire burns in a square pit built from stacked yellow-brown bricks, with a bright flame rising from the centre. Two sannyasi-like priests in saffron-orange robes and rudraksha malas sit cross-legged on a purple and green mat beside the fire; the left one wears a red-orange turban and tends the flames. Behind them, a man bare-chested in a white dhoti with a gold necklace bends forward over a silver tray decorated with pink flowers. Other people in white dhotis and saris stand in the background, and a child in the foreground sits facing the fire. A small brass vessel and oil lamps sit nearby. No identity is asserted for any person.2017-11-26February 20 20162016-02-20 +1 copiesPhoto 11722960Inside a temple hall, a fire pit (homa/yagna) burns in the foreground with flames rising from a yellow-brick base. A seated man in a red-orange cloth and rudraksha mala sits on an ornate gold throne with red cushions. Three attendants in saffron-orange and red-orange dhotis and turbans stand before a wooden door, one holding a metal plate and another a vessel, while a fourth figure in red-orange presses near them. Brass pots decorated with mango leaves and coconuts sit on a pedestal beside oil lamps (oil lamps) burning at the doorway, and a sandalwood-brown carved wooden door is behind them.2018-04-11
