November 25 20182018-11-25A photograph inside a gold-ornamented temple hall where a shirtless priest in an orange-saffron dhoti and orange head cloth pours from a white vessel over a deity murti. The murti is draped in pink and magenta flower garlands and sits in a gold arched niche flanked by two golden lion figures. A rudraksha mala hangs on the priest's chest. Hanging decorations, lamps, and carved gold pillars surround the scene.2023-01-03Photo inside a gold-decorated shrine with carved golden pillars and a gilded arch. A golden lion sits on each side of a large statue draped in pink and red flower garlands and a red-and-gold headdress, holding a flower-decorated platter. In the centre, a shaved-headed man in a white dhoti and a bare-chested man in orange cloth with an orange head covering and rudraksha beads stand close together, one embracing the other. Strings of flowers hang from the ceiling and a brass oil lamp stands on the polished floor. Pink and white flowers cover the altar in front. The scene suggests a puja at a temple shrine, though the exact ritual is not clear. Two people are visible, the second in orange with a head covering, with distinctive orange cloth and rudraksha beads, so the identity is uncertain.2023-01-03 +1 copiesJan 3 2023 sripuram2023-01-03August 12 20182018-08-12November 25 20182018-11-25A festival procession on a street. A golden palanquin with floral garlands of marigolds and white jasmine is carried under a large orange canopy with tassels and bells. A seated figure in an orange-red turban and orange robe, wearing a garland and gold bangles, raises a hand in greeting. Two bare-chested men in white dhotis with gold borders hold the canopy pole and bearers' posts, one wearing a rudraksha-style mala. Petals scatter over the scene, and buildings line the background.2016-04-18A photograph inside a gilded temple shrine with ornate golden pillars and carved golden arches. In the foreground, a golden deity murti seated on a golden lion-throne is draped in pink and magenta flower garlands and wears a red-orange turban. Golden lion figures flank the murti, with brass oil lamps and trays of flowers and offerings in front. At the right, a bare-chested priest in an orange dhoti and orange shawl, with rudraksha malas, pours or offers water over the murti's head from a vessel, while a second attendant in white stands beside him. Strings of tassels and garlands hang from the ceiling, with green trees visible through open archways beyond.2023-01-03 +1 copiesJuly 21 20102010-07-21September 16 20182018-09-16November 11 20182018-11-11A seated man in saffron-orange robes and a long gold bead necklace, with white sacred ash on his forehead and arms and a red bindi, pours a mixture of grated white and chopped ingredients from his hands onto a deity murti or ritual object in a gold-framed tray filled with milky liquid. A brass plate of the same mixture sits at left, brass pots stand at right, and devotees in white dhotis and a man in a yellow shawl stand nearby. The man's appearance (long swept-back hair, saffron robes, ornate gold beads) gives several cues, but the page does not clearly confirm his identity from the image alone.2010-07-21
