In the foreground, a young woman in a white and red sari with a red shawl sits cross-legged, holding a lit oil lamp in one hand and raising a brass lamp toward the flame. Beside her, another woman in a white sari with a red border sits and handles a brass ritual vessel. Behind them, rows of seated devotees in red and white clothing hold small flames, with many lamps and diyas glowing on the floor. The atmosphere is quiet and focused, with the warm light of the flames illuminating the dark room. No a person candidate is visible in this view.2010-12-27June 23 20182018-06-23A woman in a white garment with a red-and-black bead necklace holds a brass oil lamp with three lit flames in her right hand, gazing toward the light during a devotional lamp ritual. A red bindi marks her forehead and a silver bangle is on her wrist. Beside her, another woman in a white and yellow-bordered garment is blurred in the background, and a soft warm glow fills the setting.2011-09-26A photograph of women seated on orange mats in a temple hall, holding lit oil lamps (diyas) aloft during a puja. Most wear white saris with yellow and green borders or yellow shawls, and several have hair in long braids or buns. Brass lamps and a small offering tray sit on the floor in front, and a white stepped platform rises behind them. The women's faces are mostly turned away, and no individual's identity is evident from the image.2010-12-28
