A photograph of a ceremonial welcome at an outdoor temple-style setting. In the foreground a young man in an orange dhoti and shawl with rudraksha beads and white tilak stripes on his forehead holds a brass-and-gold decorated tray with a kalasha topped by green mango leaves. Beside him a smiling woman in a rust-red sari and rudraksha mala holds a blue bowl of red flower petals and a brass cup. A bare-chested man in white dhoti with a gold-bordered shawl faces away at right, and another man in white and gold stands beside a red-and-white barrier. Behind them, a crowd of devotees in white and orange clothing watches from a raised area under a yellow-and-orange canopy.2015-05-13A festive outdoor procession with devotees in ritual dress. In the centre, a young man with long curly hair, white urdhva-pundra markings on his forehead and arms, rudraksha mala beads and orange cloth holds a decorated brass kalasha with a green leaf on top. Beside him, a woman in a maroon sari with a red bindi and long beaded mala smiles while holding a similar offering tray. Behind them, an orange ornate umbrella and a golden palanquin-like structure appear. Boys in orange cloths with white forehead markings walk in front, one holding a brass bowl and a dried palm leaf.
