Beneath it, a seated figure in an orange robe with a yellow-and-white flower garland is set within a white arched shrine with a striped canopy roof. The figure is a statue or murti, not a living person, positioned on a red-painted mound ringed by a black-and-white tiled border. Hanging aerial roots descend from the branches near the shrine, and small oil lamps or offering items sit on the ground. Thin white posts and paved stone blocks surround the area on sandy ground.2008-12-10August 31 20182018-08-31A large banyan tree with sprawling aerial roots and wide arching branches forms a shady canopy over an open courtyard. A yellow and red marigold garland hangs on the trunk at left. At right, a deity murti draped in orange cloth and yellow flower garlands sits under a white arched niche on a dark pedestal. Sunlight filters through the leaves onto a dirt path and low stone steps. No people are visible.2010-10-05A photograph of an open courtyard shaded by a large banyan tree, with aerial roots and hanging vines descending around the trunk. On the right stands a dark stone statue seated in a white arched niche, wearing an orange cloth wrap and ornate headwear, with marigold garlands draped over its shoulders and arms. In front of it is a mound of vermilion-red paste with a small brass lamp and offerings on a low stone stand, and a black-and-white dotted border surrounds the base. A white rangoli-style floral pattern is drawn on the ground to the left. No people are visible.2010-08-04
