A homa fire ritual in progress. A fire burns in a yellow-edged rectangular fire pit with a blue-painted border and scattered white powder. A hand at right pours a thin stream of ghee or liquid from a brass ladle into the flames. At left, a bare forearm with a silver bracelet is raised toward the fire. Behind the pit, several seated participants in white ritual clothes and a few in orange or saffron garments sit near pink flower garlands and a brass bowl. Two shirtless male priests sit behind the flames in the background, one with a sacred mark on his forehead and white-beaded necklaces, the other with a beaded garland and a cloth draped over his shoulder. Their faces are blurred by the fire's glare. On the left edge, a garland of white and red flowers hangs near the frame, and at the right edge a red-and-pink textile is partly visible.
