December 05 20162016-12-05Evening ceremony under a tent with a golden ornate throne. A seated man with long dark hair, a full beard, rudraksha-style beads and a flowered garland wears orange-saffron robes and gold bangles; he sits on a red cushioned throne holding a small offering tray. A shirtless attendant in an orange-saffron headwrap and beaded mala leans in from the left, while another attendant in a white dhoti with an orange-yellow shawl offers a tray of fruit and flowers on the right. Behind them an older man in white stands, and a silver ceremonial staff lies in the foreground beside marigolds and fruit on a red mat. Overall this is a formal darshan and offering scene.2016-12-05December 05 20162016-12-05March 16 20172017-03-16 +1 copiesDecember 05 20162016-12-05May 02 20172017-05-02March 16 20172017-03-16 +1 copiesA night-time photograph of a Shiva Deeksha initiation in an outdoor temple setting. A man seated on an ornate gold-and-red throne, wearing a dark maroon-rust wrap, gold armbands, a gold floral garland and a gold headband, extends his right hand to touch the bowed head of a bare-chested devotee in white dhoti with gold border. Behind them stand several men: one bare-chested in white dhoti holding a phone, one in orange cloth with a rudraksha mala, one with long hair and vibhuti marks, and others in white and orange. A kalasha-type offering and a tray of fruit sit at the throne's base, and a yellow-curtained backdrop with a deity murti is visible at upper left. The seated figure has long swept-back hair and ceremonial gold ornaments, matching a person appearance.2017-08-21June 30 20162016-06-30 +1 copiesNight outdoor ritual photo. A bearded man in saffron-brown robes with a rudraksha-style beaded mala and a pink-and-white flower garland sits on an ornate gold throne with a large scalloped backrest and a fringed multicoloured canopy above. Incense smoke rises before him. A shirtless devotee in a red dhoti with green border and a red garland stands before the throne, offering a tray of flowers and a small lamp with both hands. Another man in white dhoti and shawl stands at right beside a potted plant, and a few people with white clothing are partly visible. Striped woven mats cover the ground. The scene is lit by string lights; a cooler and a speaker sit at left.2017-04-28November 12 20172017-11-12April 27 20122012-04-27
