In the centre, a gold-and-striped ornate ratha or palanquin-like structure stands on a red-draped platform in the water, with several figures seated on it. Hundreds of spectators fill the tiered red seating on the right and back, while in the foreground many men, some bare-chested and some in white, sit on the steps with black cushions beside a wooden railing, with white flowering branches at the left edge. Some people hold their hands together in devotion. The setting and gathering suggest a ritual event, with the central figures too small and distant to identify.2016-12-03December 02 20162016-12-02December 03 20162016-12-03Outdoor photo of a large stepped amphitheatre beside a rectangular water pool at a Dhyanapeetam-style ceremony, with a tall decorated structure at the pool's edge. A central pillar-shaped shrine is wrapped in yellow, orange and purple fabric with a golden top, and a red-draped platform stands beside it. Hundreds of seated participants fill the steps and tiers, many in white, green and saffron clothing, some sitting with their hands together, while a few stand near the water. A tall orange-red building and a clear sky with trees frame the scene.2016-12-18December 18 20162016-12-18
