January 25 20152015-01-25February 01 20152015-02-01A warehouse-style hall displays a large collection of metal temple objects and sacred furnishings on a tiled floor. Many bronze and brass deity figures stand and sit on pedestals, including a seated figure with raised hands and standing figures holding staffs. Large round brass gongs or cymbal-like discs rest on the floor, alongside deep brass bowls and a rectangular gilded casket with ornate repoussé borders. A carved golden lion-faced mount sits at the right edge beside a wooden stand. Two workers in plain clothes stand among the objects, and a metal rail and stanchions line the walkway. No ritual is taking place; the hall looks like a storage or preparation space for temple articles.2015-02-01Photo 11690377January 12 20152015-01-12A workshop storage area filled with temple metalwork and carved wooden items. In the foreground, a gilded standing deity murti with a tall crown and a bronze standing figure stand on a metal trolley. Nearby, brass and bronze kalasha-like finials, a carved wooden bull with saddle cloth, and disassembled wooden temple parts rest on orange and purple cloths. Shelves and bolts of cloth line the back wall, with a few marigold garlands among the objects.2015-08-23A covered workshop filled with large bronze and brass deity statues on red wooden bases. In the centre, a tall Nataraja-style dancing Shiva figure stands within an ornate ring of flame-like arch, its arms raised. To the left, a large golden-brown standing male statue wears a short dhoti-style garment. Behind them, seated and standing figures, a kalasha-like pot and a crowned deity murti line the shelves, with metal chains and a black pole on the right. No people are visible.2014-08-24A photograph of a large warehouse-style hall with a corrugated metal roof, fluorescent tube lights and exposed red steel beams. Rows of bronze and gilded metal deity statues line the floor, including a dancing Nataraja-style figure within an arched prabhavali, a standing bronze figure, and a seated golden figure in the lower right. In the left foreground a large bronze seated figure with an ornate crown and raised hands is partly visible. Several people walk through the aisle: a few wear saffron/orange robes, one wears a black head covering and red garment, and one man in white clothes stands near the centre. The scene appears to be a workshop or storage area for statues.2017-03-26January 25 20152015-01-25November 05 20172017-11-05October 17 20142014-10-17A row of gilded metal deity murti statues stands on a concrete floor in a plain warehouse-style room, arranged on wooden-looking bases in front of a white block wall. Several figures wear red, orange, magenta and blue draped garments, and one central figure has an elephant head. Two large printed portrait banners hang on the wall behind them: the left one shows a man with long dark hair holding a cup, and the right one shows a woman with long dark hair and a red bindi, arms raised near her face. A green striped cloth is draped over a stand at left, and a yellow banner hangs at the top. No living people are visible in the scene.2007-02-02 +1 copies
