The drummer in front, with his back to the camera, strikes the drum head with his hand, and a magenta tassel hangs from the drum's rope lacing. The second drummer behind him, in profile, wears cream dhoti-style trousers and holds a drum on a strap. A strand of marigold garland hangs on the wall nearby. A framed picture is visible in a window behind them.2009-06-25Outdoor festival procession on a dirt ground with a chain-link fence behind, strung orange and white pennant banners, and banana plants. In the centre a dancer in a bright orange kurta, green skirt and pink headwrap, with long dark hair and garlands, raises a sword and a flag-topped staff while stepping forward. Around him drummers in white and red turbans beat large red-and-white drums, and a man in a white cap and red shawl plays a drum at right. Colourful ornate parasols stand above. Spectators in white kurtas and dhotis stand behind, watching the performance.2008-12-30A photograph of a group of young male drummers in saffron-orange dhotis, orange shawls and orange turbans performing on a red-carpeted stage. They wear rudraksha malas and white body markings, and play large drums including one with a striped tiger-print covering, while others hold a long brass horn and a smaller drum. Gold ornaments and lamp stands are visible at the left, with colourful banners hanging overhead in a temple-like setting.2018-12-20
