The murti is adorned with multicolour garlands of red, yellow, green and white flowers, a golden crown, a yellow cloth and a blue sash. Behind it stands an ornate gilded throne and a golden canopy with red-and-white fringed parasols. A framed portrait showing a robed figure in orange sits on the throne. At left, a younger man in an orange dhoti-style robe with a sacred thread stands beside a second parasol and offering vessels, with a multicoloured patterned hanging behind. The scene suggests an abhishekam or puja ritual.2007-11-09Night procession with a gilded palanquin-style chariot draped in pink, purple and white flower garlands and fringed with colourful tassels. A person seated on the golden throne wears a tall ornate crown, a flower garland, gold necklaces and a gold-patterned garment, holding a long ceremonial staff topped with a trident-like finial. A young man in a bare-chested orange garment stands on the left, holding a large white chamara fan, while a woman in a white sari with a garland stands on the right, raising her hand. Multicoloured tassels hang from the canopy and orange and red parasols shade the chariot. Trident-topped standards and a blue-and-gold shield-like emblem appear at the edges, and devotees watch from the crowd below.2012-04-26May 31 20172017-05-31 +1 copiesPhoto 11744055September 06 20142014-09-06A photograph of a temple ritual inside an ornate shrine hall. A bare-chested priest in a green sash and white dhoti stands at left, holding a lit lamp or camphor flame toward the deities. Two seated men sit on a red-cushioned bench in front of a richly decorated throne: the man in the middle wears a green and gold turban and white dhoti with a white garland, and the man at right wears a tall gold-and-white headdress, white dhoti with blue border, a golden shawl and a white garland. Behind them, a central deity murti is dressed in a red and gold garment, draped with yellow and white marigold garlands. Brass lamps, a multicoloured canopy with tassels, golden ornamental arches and a jewelled silver-and-gem ornament at right complete the scene. The figure in the central throne area wears a crown with a tall head ornament and adornments; the identity of the seated men is not established by visible cues.2016-03-27April 26 20122012-04-26Night photograph of a deity murti decorated with dense garlands of red, white and yellow flowers, standing in a gilded arched shrine with a dark cloth backdrop and a fringed canopy overhead.
