On the stage at left, a woman in orange robes speaks into a microphone at a podium with a small portrait. Beside the stage, several people in white and saffron-bordered clothes stand near flower arrangements. Behind them a large maroon banner shows a portrait of a man in an orange turban with a red tilak, with the words Bhagavad Gita printed in large white letters, plus a circular emblem. Crowd members in white shirts and kurtas, some in light blue and checked shirts, stand and sit in the foreground.2010-02-15A photograph of a large indoor hall packed with a dense crowd, mostly women with hair in braids and buns, many wearing white and some in orange or saffron. In the centre foreground, several people in orange-saffron robes stand on a raised blue-and-red stage area near a white table, with a white-clad figure approaching. A tripod-mounted camera stands at the right, beside large black speaker cabinets. On the back wall, a red banner reads in Tamil, with a framed black-and-white portrait of a smiling person in a large sign captioned in Tamil and the name of the institution. A red curtain hangs behind the stage, and a white projection screen stands at right. Men in white shirts stand near the rear. Ceiling fans and a balcony with onlookers are visible above.2008-08-01A large indoor hall filled with hundreds of seated devotees dressed in white, many with palms pressed together in namaskar and some wearing white blindfolds or cloth over their eyes. Many wear lanyards with name badges. In the centre aisle a figure in an orange-red robe walks toward the front, and a stage screen is visible at the far end. Colourful woven banners hang from the white tent-like ceiling and a large screen shows an image above the stage. The scene suggests a satsang or convention gathering.2008-10-04September 20 20142014-09-20 +1 copies
