February 10 20132013-02-10February 10 20132013-02-10Night procession photographed against a bright orange glow. In the foreground a bare-chested, shaved-headed sadhu in a red dhoti and white cloth holds a long pole raised high, lifting an orange saffron flag. Beside him a man in white dhoti and a red waist cloth grips the same pole. Behind them a row of saffron flags on poles rises into the haze, and several people in white robes walk along the procession route. On the right a man wearing a light turban and white clothing looks up toward the flags, and a saffron-coloured cloth is draped over a person at the edge. No identifiable candidate for a person is clearly visible.2013-02-10February 10 20132013-02-10February 10 20132013-02-10February 10 20132013-02-10February 10 20132013-02-10Night procession at a Kumbh Mela camp under orange-lit sky, with many people walking along a dirt path. Foreground: a bare-chested man with white-painted body and red loincloth holds a tall bamboo pole raised overhead. Nearby, men in white dhotis and white shirts, some with red sashes and white-painted faces, walk alongside. A man in a red jacket and red shawl stands at left holding an orange flag. A white banner with red lettering is carried in the middle, and several orange saffron flags wave above the crowd. Street lamps and illuminated structures glow in the background. The procession appears to be a ceremonial walk toward the river.2013-02-10February 10 20132013-02-10February 10 20132013-02-10Photo 116856022013-02-10 +1 copiesFebruary 10 20132013-02-10
