A large crowd of mostly men in white shirts and dhotis presses forward, many raising their hands. At centre a decorated palanquin or ratha topped with a golden ornamental structure and a red and gold canopy is carried above the crowd. Ceremonial items include a silver trident, a silver staff with a star finial, a metal kalasha-shaped pot, and long poles with brass finials. Several people wear saffron/orange shawls and orange cloth. A large red and gold decorated umbrella-style canopy with striped fringe stands to the right. The scene reads as a temple or ashram procession with devotees joyfully following the chariot.2010-11-11A festival procession moves through a dusty open ground with a multi-coloured, flower-garlanded ratha chariot at upper right, its canopy decorated with red, yellow and blue panels and orange-yellow fringe. A seated figure sits on a red-draped seat under the chariot canopy, with a deity murti visible inside. Devotees in white and cream dress walk alongside, with several women in yellow-and-white saris and a woman in white with a pink shawl and rudraksha mala in the foreground. A tall gold-and-silver ceremonial staff or standard stands at left, with orange flags and a white building under construction behind. Some devotees wear white shirts with lanyards, and a red wall lines the grounds.2009-12-29December 15 20112011-12-15September 05 20162016-09-05Photo 11735232
