Two men in saffron-orange cloth stand at the pit: one bare-chested with a long rudraksha-style mala and a tied red-orange wrap, pouring offerings, and a second in a long orange robe holding a yellow offering item over the fire. Smoke rises in the bright daylight. An inset photo at left shows a man in orange wrap wearing a rudraksha mala and holding a ritual item.A photograph of a homa fire ritual. A figure in saffron-orange robes sits behind a rectangular brick fire pit with a tall flame rising from it, hands raised in prayer near the face. Pink and red flower petals and green leaves decorate the stone-edged pit, and brass vessels and a small offering dish sit to the right. The figure's orange robes and beaded necklace are visible, but the face is not clearly shown, so identity is uncertain.2007-09-17January 15 20122012-01-15
