March 11 20182018-03-11January 15 20182018-01-15A figure seen from behind stands before a richly decorated deity murti of Shiva's Nandi-style ornamented altar, with a golden cobra hood canopy above a shivalinga wrapped in woven straw and flowers. The standing person wears a rust-brown turban, a long dark braided hair cascade, a multicoloured beaded garland and bare arms with gold bangles, holding a small silver vessel in one hand. Surrounding the altar are white jasmine, pink and red roses, green leaves, and gold and purple draped cloth, with golden hand-shaped ornaments above. The scene suggests an abhishekam or puja. The figure is partially visible and the back view prevents clear facial or distinctive frontal cues.2018-01-09January 15 20182018-01-15A man with long dreadlocks, wearing a rust-brown dhoti and multiple garlands of pink and white flowers, stands beside a Shivalingam decorated with tall pillars of yellow, red and white marigold and flower garlands wrapped with green leaves. A golden cobra hood (naga) arches over the lingam, and a golden yoni-pitha base holds it. He reaches out to adjust the garlands while a banyan tree and a tent canopy frame the outdoor shrine.2018-01-14 +1 copiesJuly 09 20172017-07-09A photograph inside a temple shrine during a ritual. Behind him, a bare-chested attendant in orange dhoti with gold border holds a brass plate and wears a rudraksha mala. To the right, a deity murti with red face, gold crown and ornaments sits beneath flower garlands, with a tall brass lamp stand and gold vessels nearby. Lamps and flowers fill the shrine.2016-12-14October 08 20162016-10-08A photograph of a temple ritual. In the left foreground a man in a rust-red turban and rust-red robe, with a white flower garland, long dark dreadlock-style hair falling to his back, and gold armlets, stands in profile holding a lit oil lamp (aarti) toward a shrine. Behind him, golden deity murtis are heavily decorated with multicoloured flower garlands in red, yellow, purple and white, and a golden cobra hood is visible. A brass bell and other ritual implements are nearby. The scene suggests a puja or aarti at a deity shrine.2017-07-09September 18 20162016-09-18A photograph of a person seen from behind in a temple, wearing a rust-brown turban and a long braid of dark dreadlocks down the back. The bare-shouldered figure wears a multicolour beaded garland of pink, white and green, and gold bangles. Before them stands a decorated deity murti with gold snake hoods and a silver-edged shiva lingam, surrounded by yellow and white marigold garlands, red roses and green leaves. Gold ornamental pieces and a large gold kalasha-like form rise behind. The person appears to be performing abhishekam or puja. The a person field reflects an uncertain appearance-based candidate.2018-01-09July 09 20172017-07-09
