A smiling man with long, swept-back dark hair and a red tilak on his forehead stands in a shrine-like room, wearing a sleeveless orange wrap garment and orange cloth. He faces a younger man on the left in a yellow-orange kurta with long curly hair, who holds a clipboard and papers. A third person in white clothes is partly visible at the right edge. Behind them, a framed portrait of a deity or saint with a golden crown and a garland of white and red flowers hangs on the wall, and a wooden cabinet below holds brass oil lamps and a small kalasha-like brass vessel. Framed pictures of a saint in orange robes and a deity appear on the left wall, with shrine niches above.2010-02-17Photograph of an indoor hall with cream walls, a ceiling fan and tube lights, and framed portraits hung on the walls. A bald man with a shaved head, seen from behind, wears an orange robe draped over one shoulder and stands facing a long-haired person in orange clothing who smiles with a red bindi. A man in white shirt and white trousers stands barefoot on the right, smiling with hands clasped. A framed painting on the back wall shows a seated figure garlanded with a yellow-and-white flower garland. A wooden cabinet holds a fruit tray and bottles, and a ceiling fan turns overhead. Nothing in the frame is clearly identifiable as a specific ritual.2009-08-03A photograph of a small room with cream walls and a garland of marigolds and orange flowers strung along the ceiling edge. Several saffron-clad sannyasis stand conversing. On the left, a man in an orange robe and orange turban faces right, while behind him a bald man in white stands near an ornate gilded chair. In the centre, a figure in an orange robe with a marigold garland gestures while speaking to a man in an orange robe wearing a rudraksha-style necklace and a marigold garland. On the right, a bearded man in an orange turban and orange shawl stands beside white plastic chairs and a small table with a steel tray. A man in a blue shirt stands in the background. A framed photograph hangs on the upper right wall.2011-05-23A photograph in an indoor hall with a deep red velvet curtain behind. A long-haired figure in saffron-orange robes with a rudraksha mala necklace sits smiling on an orange velvet armchair with a red cushion and orange bolster pillows, one hand raised in conversation. Before him, an older man with white hair and beard, wrapped in an orange shawl, leans forward with hands together in greeting. A younger man in white with an orange shawl and a tilak mark stands at left, and a partially visible person is at the right edge. A white table holds a tray with small items. The seated figure's appearance matches the appearance-based cues of a person: long swept-back hair, saffron clothing and rudraksha mala, seated on a throne-like chair.2010-07-02 +1 copiesOctober 23 20102010-10-23 +2 copies
