The seated figures are deity murtis, not living people: one wears a red and gold crown and a heavy necklace, the other a white-and-gold head ornament and jewelled garland. Both are draped in orange and gold cloth and adorned with marigold and red flower garlands. In front stands a silver ritual object. Tall brass oil lamps flank the shrine on both sides, and a small figure in red and orange sits at the base among offerings and bells. Stone pillars frame the scene.2010-07-13Inside a temple shrine, a pair of deity murti sit on a raised dais before a gilded arched frame. The left figure holds a trident and a drum-like instrument and wears a crown and rudraksha mala; the right figure wears a bright green and purple sari with jewelry. Both are draped with garlands of yellow, red and purple flowers. In front stands a Shivalinga-like form with a silver-toned yoni base and a lamp stand. Tall brass oil lamps flank the sanctum, with small brass pots, a kalasha and rose petals on the floor. Blue curtains hang at the sides.2009-06-20A photograph of an illuminated temple shrine at night showing a seated pair of deity murtis, one with a crown and a large necklace and the other with a tall ornate headdress, both draped in rich orange and cream garments and decorated with flower garlands. Two standing deity murtis are dressed in red and pink garments with floral garlands and gold ornaments; one holds a trident and a drum-like object. Between them and in front sits a smaller figure in white, draped with yellow and red marigold garlands and a gold waist band. Tall brass oil lamps flank the platform, and brass kalasha-style vessels rest on the floor. No physical people are visible; the figures are statues.2009-06-30A golden shrine niche framed by an ornate gold arch holds a large golden deity murti of Shiva and Parvati seated together on a throne, with a red-and-gold crown on the figure and jewelled garlands. Red drapes flank the niche. Tall brass oil lamps stand on both sides and a silver-and-gold kalasha sits before the deity, decorated with marigold and purple garlands. In the foreground a seated figure in orange robes, appearing to be a sannyasi in saffron clothing and seen from behind, sits before the altar. Appearance-based label: a person cannot be confirmed from the seated figure, so the figure is described as a sannyasi in orange robes.2010-11-21December 21 20092009-12-21 +3 copiesDecember 29 20082008-12-29 +16 copiesA photograph of a shrine inside a stone temple hall with carved pillars and a gold-framed arch.
