January 12 20072007-01-12A crowded photograph inside a temple entrance decorated with orange marigold garlands hanging on a stone wall. In the centre, a man in a saffron-orange turban and orange robe, wearing a red flower garland and a multi-strand gold bead necklace, stands beside a tall silver oil lamp with a flame. Around him, men in white shirts and dhotis press close, one reaching forward with his hand, and an older man with glasses in the foreground watches. A grey-haired man in white stands at right, and a younger man in orange with long hair is at lower left. The scene reflects an opening or consecration gathering, though the image itself does not show the ceremony in detail.2009-11-30July 25 20122012-07-25August 09 20102010-08-09A photograph inside a temple hall with orange and red tassel-hung pillars. A man in an orange robe with a long rudraksha mala and swept-back dark hair stands at centre, his right hand raised to touch the forehead of a man in a white shirt who stands with palms pressed together. The robed man holds a silver tray containing gold-coloured items and a folded paper. Nearby, a bald man in a white dhoti and white shirt, with a white vertical mark on his forehead, stands with clasped hands, and another man in white with sacred ash marks observes. Swamiji (probable) is the robed figure in orange with rudraksha mala and long hair, shown in person performing a blessing.2010-11-30A photograph of a man in a cream-coloured turban and white dhoti with a bare upper torso, wearing a garland of yellow flowers with green leaves, a rudraksha mala and bead bracelets, reading a small white paper handed to him by a devotee. The turbaned man has a distinctive ceremonial presentation with a wrap and adornments, but his face and features are not clearly visible, so the identity is uncertain. Beside him, a monk in saffron-orange robes with a rudraksha mala and tilak stands closely. On the left, a man in a white shirt folds his hands in namaste toward him. Behind them, a crowd of devotees in white and light clothing fills a bright hall with a red curtain. +2 copiesJanuary 12 20072007-01-12A crowded outdoor procession at night in which a central figure in an orange-saffron turban and ornate orange garment, wearing a thick marigold garland and a heavy gold-toned necklace with a mala, smiles and raises one hand in blessing. Around him, men in white dhotis and orange or saffron robes press close, some with white or saffron vibhuti and kumkum marks, while a man in a white vest and red dhoti holds a rudraksha mala. Several people hold up mobile phones and a camera operator with a video camera stands at left, and ceremonial staffs and a silver-tipped standard are visible at upper right. The scene suggests a satsang or procession crowd, with the central figure as the focal point of devotees.2013-02-12January 02 20082008-01-02Photograph of a devotional event indoors with a crowd of standing devotees. Centre right, a man with long dark hair, a small red bindi, a saffron-orange garment over bare shoulders and layered rudraksha-style beaded necklaces holds a small white paper or envelope in both hands and looks down at it. Nearby, a woman in a yellow sari with a red bindi and folded hands stands among others; a man in a white shirt and a man in a yellow-and-white striped shawl stand at left in the foreground, and a man in a purple shirt stands between them. Warm blurred lights and orange-robed figures fill the background.2011-11-11February 12 20132013-02-12Night photograph of a crowd gathered around a seated figure in saffron-orange robes and a long yellow-beaded garland, with long dark hair and white forehead markings. Around him, men in white dhotis and shirts, many wearing saffron or orange shawls, stand close; one holds a video camera and another a black folder. Street lamps and a flash-lit background show an outdoor setting with more people in the back. A man at left holds his hands together respectfully. The seated figure is a candidate for a person based on the long swept hair, saffron clothing and ornate beaded garland, and is described as a seated figure in saffron robes.2008-08-02
