At the centre, a man with curly dark hair wears a white kurta over an orange-saffron shawl, smelling or holding a garland of white flowers, green leaves and a red and yellow bloom. Around him, devotees in white shirts and dhotis press close; a bare-chested man with a rudraksha mala and white dhoti stands at right, and an orange-robed sannyasi with a leaf-and-flower garland faces the centre. A gold ceremonial object is raised above the crowd. Men in white and orange, some with tilak marks, fill the frame.2007-01-12A crowd of men surrounds a central figure in a saffron-orange robe with a white flower garland and rudraksha mala, a gold chain at the neck, and a sandalwood mark on the forehead. Hands reach toward him to touch and offer papers, and a bald man in the lower foreground wears a rudraksha mala. Some men wear white dhotis and shirts; others wear collared shirts. A red tray with sweets stands at right, and a white cloth backdrop hangs behind. Cues for an appearance-based candidate are present, but the figure's features are not clearly enough established to confirm identity.2012-05-28 +1 copiesA dense crowd of devotees surrounds a central group in an indoor temple-like setting with gold-painted pillars and flower garlands in the background. At centre, an elderly man with white hair and a white beard, wearing an orange saffron robe with a green-edged sash, stands facing a younger man with long dark hair and a gold-colored necklace of ornaments, dressed in orange robes with a red tilak, who gestures with his raised hand. Around them, men in white shirts and white dhotis wear gold chains and sacred marks, and a man in a white shirt holds a garland. Appearance-based probable candidate: Swamiji (probable), the younger man in orange robes with long hair, gold ornaments and a gesturing hand, in the midst of the devotees.2010-02-02A long-haired figure in a saffron-orange shawl wrapped over the shoulders and multiple gold-beaded rudraksha-style necklaces stands at the centre, extending a folded white paper or prasadam to a row of men in white shirts and white dhotis with hands folded in greeting. Behind him a shaved-headed attendant in a saffron cloth and beaded necklace stands by a tray of fruit, and an older man in white with an orange shawl is visible at right. The setting is an indoor hall with a projection screen and blue drapery. The central figure matches the probable Swamiji appearance cues of swept-back long hair, saffron clothing and ceremonial beads, and is presented as the one giving prasadam to devotees.2011-02-27A crowded photograph inside a temple entrance decorated with orange marigold garlands hanging on a stone wall. In the centre, a man in a saffron-orange turban and orange robe, wearing a red flower garland and a multi-strand gold bead necklace, stands beside a tall silver oil lamp with a flame. Around him, men in white shirts and dhotis press close, one reaching forward with his hand, and an older man with glasses in the foreground watches. A grey-haired man in white stands at right, and a younger man in orange with long hair is at lower left. The scene reflects an opening or consecration gathering, though the image itself does not show the ceremony in detail.2009-11-30A dense crowd of devotees presses around an outdoor temple inauguration at night, with string lights and floral decorations overhead. In the centre, a figure in orange robes with a long dark plait stands bowed forward, a white flower garland draped over the shoulders of a person in an orange turban and orange robes in the foreground. Nearby, a man in white with a rudraksha mala and a woman in white with a red bindi receive offerings from a brass tray. Many people in white, pink and grey shirts crowd close, with a hand holding a mobile phone at the lower right. The scene reads as a temple event, with a gold-framed deity murti or decorated shrine edge at the right.2009-11-30May 28 20122012-05-28 +2 copies
