A photograph of an outdoor ritual at the base of a large banyan tree with many hanging aerial roots. In the foreground a priest in white dhoti and white shawl with a gold-bordered cloth holds a brass lamp with a flame, offering it near a stone platform circling the tree trunk. Behind him a cameraman in a dark vest and white shirt films. On a black cloth in front are plantains, coconut halves, packaged snacks, a red cloth-wrapped object, jute string and a small brass bowl, typical of an aarti offering. Dry leaves scatter the ground and a reddish wall is visible behind the tree. No identifiable a person figure is visible.

A priest in an orange-saffron dhoti and bare upper body, wearing a white flower garland, holds a flaming lamp or fire toward a massive banyan tree with many hanging aerial roots. Behind him a group of devotees in white and grey shirts stand with palms pressed together in prayer on a sandy path. A small offering or puja plate is visible at the left edge, and small yellow flowers are placed on the tree trunk. Sunlight filters through the leafy canopy, and the scene looks like an outdoor ritual at a sacred banyan tree.

A photograph of a devotional ritual beside a large banyan tree with many hanging aerial roots. In the centre, a bare-chested man in an orange dhoti and a white-and-orange flower garland holds a lit flame or lamp toward the tree's base on sandy ground. To the left, a man in white holds a tray of flowers. Behind them, about a dozen onlookers in white shirts, dark clothing and striped shirts stand in a loose group, several with hands folded in prayer. The scene is outdoors in dappled sunlight with tree roots and leafy branches overhead. The swami's identity cannot be determined from appearance here, so the figure is described by role as a priest.

A photograph of a large banyan tree with aerial roots hanging from wide spreading branches over a dusty clearing. In the lower left, a person seen from behind wears an orange saffron wrap and a white flower garland, raising a small lamp or vessel toward the tree's trunk. A few yellow marigold garlands lie at the bottom edge, and another person in white clothing stands at the far left edge. The ground is bare earth with dappled sunlight.

Outdoor photo of a single person in a white kurta with a white shawl edged in orange-and-gold stripes and white dhoti with striped border, standing barefoot on a circular stone platform. He faces a large, multi-trunked banyan tree with aerial roots, leaning toward its trunk in reverence. Long dark wavy hair falls to his shoulders. Sunlit dirt ground and trees surround the scene; a brass puja tray with bells and a small vessel sits at the lower left edge. Appearance suggests a person, long swept hair and ritual white dress with orange-striped shawl, shown in person and praying at the tree.

A shaved-headed man in plain white dhoti and white upper cloth with a red border bends forward at a low stone platform beneath a huge banyan tree with thick aerial roots and spreading branches. He appears to be tending a small offering, with a white cloth or whisk-like item placed on the platform beside a brass vessel. The black polished stone floor tiles in the foreground reflect the scene, and the ground is reddish dirt. The man is a priest or devotee; his face is not visible and no identification is made from appearance, so the a person field is unsure.

A photograph at an outdoor sacred site beneath a large banyan tree with thick aerial roots and yellow and orange garlands tied around them. In the foreground a woman with long dark hair wears an orange sari-style wrap and a green and yellow flower garland, holding a lit oil lamp toward the tree while standing before a dark reflective stone surface. Beside her a man in white dhoti and white shirt with an orange shawl gestures over the water-like surface. Another orange-clad figure stands at the left edge, and a bald-headed person in white sits partly visible at the bottom. A white chalk kolam pattern lines the ground. Two people are visible in the scene, though others are partly cut off at the frame edges.

A woman in a saffron-orange sari-style robe with a red and white garland over her shoulders stands barefoot on a dark granite platform under a large banyan tree, performing aarti with a brass lamp in her right hand. Behind her is a shrine with a deity murti decorated with flower garlands and an orange floral offering arrangement. A shaved-headed monastic in saffron stands to the right with his hands folded in prayer. A flower garland hangs around the banyan trunk on the left, and a concrete bench sits nearby.
