Photograph at dusk of a line of devotees standing on a dark tiled courtyard outside a white building with a balcony. Most wear yellow and gold clothing: several women in yellow salwar kameez and a man in a yellow shirt with white dhoti. Others wear floral or pink outfits. They face the building's open entrance under a blue awning edged with red and yellow striped valances. A banner hangs on the left, and a plaque is mounted beside the doorway. Some participants carry small bags.2024-01-24February 10 20202020-02-10 +1 copiesJanuary 25 20242024-01-25A crowded temple interior during a Thaipoosam-day gathering, with devotees moving through a central aisle. A shaved-headed man in an all-white kurta and trousers walks away from the camera, while a woman in a cream sari and a white-haired elderly woman in a white sari with hands joined stand near a deity murti decorated with a garland of green, yellow and white flowers and a red-and-white canopy umbrella. Further left a woman wears a yellow-and-red sari. On the right a bare-chested priest in orange-red dhoti, with sacred thread and yellow tilak, stands beside a tray of offerings. A woman in a green and blue sari and a priest in white dhoti stand near the offering table. In the foreground a man in a checked shirt with a tilak on his forehead holds a plate, and a woman in a yellow top carries a backpack. A street lamp glows in the background.
