A photograph of a large ancient banyan tree with many spreading branches and dangling aerial roots, standing in an open sandy courtyard. Beneath it a dark stone Shiva linga sits on a raised base, draped with a bright magenta cloth and decorated with garlands and red flower offerings scattered on the ground. A low stone platform and a small dark slab lie nearby, with red-and-white cloth mats laid on the ground. No people are visible in the scene. The setting suggests a sacred tree shrine tied to a temple story.2013-07-13A large, sprawling banyan tree dominates the frame, its thick grey trunk and many aerial roots hanging from wide spreading branches over a paved, low-walled platform with a dark slab. At the lower right, a seated figure in a red sari and a figure in yellow clothing stand beside a red-draped shrine with an ornate silver-framed arch, apparently at a small sacred site beneath the tree.2013-03-24A large old banyan tree with a dense canopy and many thick aerial roots hanging from its spreading limbs dominates the scene. Beneath it, excavated red earth exposes exposed roots and stacked grey stones at left. At right, a black stone deity murti sits on a red pedestal in front of a pink draped backdrop with a silver arch, decorated with garlands. A single person in an orange robe stands among the aerial roots near a metal railing, and another figure in white stands further back.2014-08-13August 29 20112011-08-29 +1 copiesDecember 31 20092009-12-31A large old banyan tree with a dense canopy of spreading aerial roots dominates an outdoor grove with a sandy ground.
