Outdoor photograph of a dirt construction site beneath a large spreading banyan tree with thick aerial roots. Four men stand on bare earth: on the far right a man in a white kurta and white dhoti with an orange-saffron shawl draped over his shoulders and eyeglasses, standing barefoot with hands folded near his chest; beside him a shorter man in an orange-saffron cloth and bare feet; a man in a light checked shirt and grey trousers holding a cloth; and a man in a white shirt and dark trousers at the back. Behind them are concrete block walls, a wire-mesh fence, stacked red soil and a scaffold. A small metal bowl sits on a concrete ledge at the tree's base beside a water bottle.2008-03-25Outdoor photograph of a massive banyan tree with dense hanging aerial roots and a wide canopy over a dirt ground with red soil and construction blocks. On the left, an elderly man in a checked white shirt, dark lungi and a light shawl stands near a low brick wall. In the centre, several men stand together under the branches: one in a saffron-orange robe, one in a white shirt and dhoti, and one in white with an orange shawl, with a person in white clothes partly visible behind them. Large grey boulders lie in the foreground and a whitewashed wall stands in the background.2008-03-25February 23 20082008-02-23Outdoor photograph beneath a large spreading banyan tree with aerial roots at a construction site of concrete blocks and red earth. A group of about eight people walks along a dirt path: a woman in a green sari, a woman in a navy and orange sari, a man in a pink checked shirt, a young girl in a red dress, and men in white shirts. On the right, a shaved-headed monk in orange robes walks beside a man in white dhoti and shirt with an orange shawl. A stone bowl sits on the block platform at left, and a water bottle stands nearby.2008-03-25A photograph beneath a large, sprawling banyan tree with many hanging aerial roots and dense canopy, on a sandy red-earth clearing with rocks. In the foreground a man in white clothes with an orange shawl stands facing right. Beside him, a bare-chested man in orange dhoti and orange shawl stands on a rock with his back to the camera, long dark hair falling down. Behind them an older man in white clothes stands near the trunk. A few other people in white and orange are partly visible at the left edge. The faces of the people are not shown in detail. No identity is confirmed from appearance; the bare-chested figure with long hair and orange garments is a candidate only, with uncertain appearance.2006-10-07December 20 20092009-12-20Outdoor photo beneath a huge banyan tree with dense hanging aerial roots and a low brick wall around its base on reddish earth. A barefoot grey-haired man in a pink-and-white checked shirt and grey trousers walks forward holding a light towel, accompanied by a small girl in a red frilly dress holding an object. Beside them a bald man in a saffron-orange robe with a red border walks alongside a younger man in white dhoti and shirt with an orange shawl. A woman in white sari stands at left with folded arms, and more men in white stand in the background. Four to six physical people are visible, including partially visible figures.2008-03-25February 23 20082008-02-23Outdoor photo at a large, ancient banyan tree with many hanging aerial roots and a wide, spreading trunk. A long-haired person in an orange-red top and orange wrap stands barefoot on sandy ground, pointing toward a stone-set opening at the base of the tree. Around them, several devotees in everyday clothes look on: a man in a dark blue shirt and white trousers, a man in a cream shirt, a woman in a maroon sari with gold border holding a handbag, a man in a grey-blue shirt, and a boy in a white shirt and blue trousers. Other people stand in the background at left.2007-12-20Devotees in white dhotis, shirts and saris work at the base of a large banyan tree with dense hanging aerial roots, at what appears to be an outdoor kara seva. A man in a white shirt and white dhoti stands at the centre, bending near the roots, while a woman in a white sari to the left smiles and carries a shallow metal tray. Other people in white clothing stand and move among the trunks. The ground is reddish-brown earth piled around a low grey concrete wall encircling the tree, with more trays and loose soil on the path. No saffron-clad figure is visible.2008-02-23Outdoor photo beneath a huge ancient banyan tree with thick aerial roots and spreading branches hanging over sandy ground and fallen leaves. Four men stand together in the foreground: three wear saffron-orange robes and one, on the far right, has long swept-back dark hair and gestures with his right arm toward the tree. A white-clad man with a white shawl stands between them with a lanyard. Two more people in white and light clothing stand far left near a low platform.2006-10-25Outdoors beneath a large banyan tree with dense hanging aerial roots, a group walks along a stone-paved path past a red-brown excavation edge and a golden gateway with carved pillars. A man in orange robes with a turban-like head wrap and a sannyasi in saffron-orange cloth walk with a woman in orange who carries a folded paper, while a man in white dhoti and shirt stands further along. A woman in white sari with an orange border stands at the right edge, partly seen. The setting is dry sandy ground with fallen leaves, consistent with the Kalpataru banyan temple construction site.2018-02-01
