Outdoor ritual photo beside tall palms. A bare-chested man with long dreadlocks and a red-brown cloth draped at his waist, wearing a multi-coloured flower garland, ties or wraps a white cloth around a tall wooden post decorated with bundles of dried grass. Beside him, a second figure with long dreadlocks in a yellow and white dhoti stands with back turned. At left edge, a man in orange robes and a rudraksha-style necklace watches, with a red tilak on his forehead. Red and gold bangles adorn the arms. The setting appears to be a temple-style pillar ritual in a garden.2016-04-10Outdoor photograph of a dwajarohanam flag-hoisting ritual beside a tall wooden pole wrapped in rope and topped with a bundle of straw, green leaves and bound grass. Three men in saffron-orange robes and rudraksha malas stand around the base; the central figure in a saffron wrap raises his right hand toward the pole, while the man beside him, seen from behind with a bare shoulder, holds a small brass plate of yellow flowers. White and red flower garlands hang on the pole's base. Palm fronds and green trees frame the sunlit scene.2016-01-11Outdoor flag-hoisting (dvajarohanam) at a temple with a tall copper flagstaff wrapped with a wooden base decorated with yellow and red marigold garlands and leafy bundles. Two men pull a rope upward: a figure in brown robes with a red-and-white flower garland and gold necklaces holds the rope overhead, and a long-haired man with a long black braided hair, bare chest, and orange dhoti/shawl helps pull. Coconut palms and a clear sky form the background.2016-12-14Outdoor photograph of a flag-hoisting ritual (dvajarohanam) at a temple. A tall golden pillar is draped with a red and white cloth wrapped around a bundle of straw and green leaves at its top. Several women in orange and rust-coloured robes with rudraksha beads and bangles hold the cloth; one older woman in rust-red robes with a bangle on her wrist adjusts the fabric at the centre. To the left, a young person in an orange garment with a black head wrap and leopard-print scarf steadies the cloth, and a figure with white-painted markings on the arm stands beside. Palm trees and dry trees fill the background under a pale sky.2018-12-22 +1 copies
