In the foreground a woman in a red patterned sleeveless dress with a lanyard and a boy in a white kurta carry water bottles. A man in an orange robe and bare upper body wears a long white and orange flower garland and a white forehead marking; a bearded sannyasi in orange robes walks beside him with a bare chest and a white forehead band. In the foreground a young man with short dark hair and a red bindi wears a loose saffron-orange cloth draped over his shoulders and a red undershirt, his eyes lowered in a calm, meditative expression. Behind him a man in a white kurta and white dhoti with a saffron-orange shawl walks in step, and a woman in white and gold-bordered sari with a long-sleeved white blouse follows, along with other people in white and cream clothing further back. The procession suggests a walking circumambulation of the sacred Arunachala hill, with participants moving quietly and attentively.2009-08-05April 02 20122012-04-02October 07 20112011-10-07A dirt path lined with trees during a procession. Behind them, another saffron-robed man carries a ceremonial staff with a golden finial and a small drum, and a bald man in orange with rudraksha and a gold necklace walks nearby. Devotees in white clothes and white shirts stand along the path with hands folded in namaste and watch. Several other people in white and orange are visible in the background.2009-07-08 +1 copiesAugust 05 20092009-08-05Outdoor procession on a tree-lined path with red brick walls.
