May 08 20152015-05-08May 08 20152015-05-08Night photograph of a dense crowd pressing along a narrow stone-walled passage. Several men in dark or white shirts and a few in orange-red cloth stand close together. One man near the centre-right wears an orange-red shawl over his shoulder, and a man at the centre has a light-coloured shirt. Motion blur and heavy shadow obscure faces and details. A small logo appears at the top left and a copyright caption sits at the lower right.2006-12-04December 12 20162016-12-12A photograph of a crowd walking through a dim stone temple corridor toward a bright doorway, with carved pillars on the right. At the centre, a man in saffron-orange robes wears a purple shawl, a long gold-bead garland and a gold pendant, with a red tilak on his forehead; he is among the more prominent figures and appears to be the honoured guest. Beside him a bare-chested young man in a red dhoti and a bearded bare-chested man in white dhoti with a rudraksha-style necklace walk with the group. Several men in white shirts and dhotis and white-clad devotees, some with white ash marks on their bodies, follow behind. Two women in saffron and blue saris stand at the right edge.2009-08-11A crowded interior of a temple corridor with dark stone pillars painted with colourful bands and overhead fluorescent lights. A dense mass of devotees presses against a metal grille on the left. Many men wear white dhotis and shawls with yellow or orange borders, and a few women wear red and yellow saris. A bare-chested man on the left and a man in white near the centre stand among the crowd, while others raise cameras and phones at the upper right. Hands reach toward the grille, and one man holds a folded paper. The image is a photograph, and the scene appears to be a darshan queue at a temple.2010-12-29A crowded interior corridor in a temple, with a row of tubelights along a dark stone ceiling and carved pillars. Behind a tall metal grille on the left, a uniformed police officer in khaki stands near a figure in white. A dense crowd of devotees fills the walkway: men in white shirts and white dhotis, some bare-chested with sacred threads, and women in white saris with gold borders. Many people press forward toward the grille, some holding papers or small items.2010-12-29Night photograph of a procession along a narrow lane lined with stone walls and strings of lights, leading toward a lit temple gopuram. In the centre, a person with long dark hair wearing an orange-red robe, gold beaded necklaces and an orange shawl walks with palms pressed together in greeting. Around them, men in white kurtas and dhotis wear orange shawls, one with a pink rosette pinned to the chest. Onlookers and devotees crowd the edges of the lane. The central figure has distinctive long hair, saffron robes and ornate gold necklaces, consistent with Swamiji (probable), shown in person in procession.2006-12-04May 18 20122012-05-18June 23 20132013-06-23A dense crowd of men, women and children pushes through a narrow, dimly lit street with old stone buildings and a bright light glowing in the background. In the centre, a man in a white shirt with a rudraksha mala around his neck leans forward through the press of people, his face turned down and to the side. Many onlookers wear white shirts, others wear yellow striped or red clothing, and some hold up phones and raised hands. Blurred motion suggests people moving quickly through the crowd.2012-05-18September 04 20132013-09-04
