A large group of women sits cross-legged on a white floor in a hall, each holding a lit oil lamp in front of brass puja plates with kumkum and flowers on orange mats. Many wear white saris with orange or yellow shawls, and a woman in the front centre wears an orange sari and gold bangles, reading an open book. A stage with a green top and orange backdrop, a small table with striped cloth, and a hanging white curtain are behind them. The scene suggests a collective puja or aarti with lamps, though no a person is visibly present.
