December 23 20082008-12-23A figure in orange saffron robes with a gold-bordered drape and a gold bead necklace stands barefoot beside a tall copper dhvaja staff, which is wrapped in white and red flower garlands and has a carved copper base. The figure is pulling an orange rope that runs up the staff, a flag-hoisting ritual. A coconut palm and blue sky are behind. Another person in orange robes is partly visible at the right edge, holding the rope.2011-07-15December 23 20082008-12-23September 02 20102010-09-02 +1 copiesJuly 26 20102010-07-26July 26 20102010-07-26December 23 20082008-12-23A copper flagstaff stands on an orange-painted stone platform, its base carved with a seated golden figure in a niche and wrapped with garlands of yellow and purple flowers. A man in a saffron-orange robe with a rudraksha mala raises his arms and grips a rope that runs up the pole, while a shaven-headed priest in white dhoti with maroon borders steadies the rope beside him. A third person in orange kneels at lower left holding a golden tray of offerings, with palm trees behind. The scene looks like a flag-hoisting ritual at a temple-style site.2010-09-13January 18 20152015-01-18July 26 20102010-07-26July 26 20102010-07-26A copper flagstaff with ornately carved base, garlanded with yellow and white flowers and dark leaves, stands on a red-orange platform beneath coconut palms. Two men in saffron-orange robes stand at the pole: the nearer one, with a shaved head and bare arm, reaches up to pull the rope, while the other, with a rudraksha mala around his neck, holds a brass tray. A bare-bodied figure in white stands at the right edge. The rope runs up beside the pole into the bright sky.2011-03-05
