A man in a rust-red robe with a gold necklace and flower garland stands at its base, one hand on the staff and gazing upward as he pulls a rope attached to a white banner at the top. A red and gold umbrella and a partly visible figure stand at the right edge, with a flag held aloft in the upper right. The scene suggests a flag-hoisting ritual at an outdoor ashram courtyard.2016-04-10January 04 20152015-01-04 +1 copiesApril 10 20162016-04-10September 26 20162016-09-26September 02 20102010-09-02 +1 copiesOctober 18 20102010-10-18 +2 copiesSeptember 26 20162016-09-26Low-angle outdoor photo of a tall, tapering copper flagstaff with ring bands, decorated at its base with yellow and orange marigold garlands and a carved wooden shrine-like plinth. A saffron-robed figure with a shaved head stands on the raised platform, one arm raised high gripping a rope that runs up toward the pennant, a red-orange flag near the top. Beside him a person in white dhoti and shawl with a shaved head faces the pole. Palm fronds and a blue sky with clouds fill the background, and a tin roof edge crosses the upper left corner.2010-09-02A tall copper flagpole topped with a red and gold banner stands on an ornate copper base decorated with yellow and white flower garlands. A bare-footed man in rust-red and brown robes, wearing a long white jasmine garland and rudraksha beads, pulls a rope to raise the pole, with his eyes closed. Several people stand behind him, including a man in white shirt and trousers with hands folded in prayer and orange-clad attendants. Palm trees and a security camera appear in the background, with flower petals scattered on the ground.2016-09-26
