August 01 20082008-08-01August 01 20082008-08-01Night photograph at an ashram entrance during an arrival reception. A silver SUV is stopped beside a white-covered table, and a man in orange robes with red-banded dhoti stands at the driver-side door, extending his hand toward a brass tray holding a kalasha-style pot with mango leaves and a coconut. Men in white kurtas with orange shawls stand nearby, one holding a large orange and multicoloured parasol. Fairy lights glow in the trees behind, with a small purple logo at upper left. A passenger in the car wears an orange shawl. The scene suggests an aarti or welcome ritual on arrival.2008-08-01August 01 20082008-08-01Night outdoor scene at a dirt-ground roadside beside a dark silver SUV with its door open. A long-haired man in an orange-saffron garment with gold border, gold necklaces and a rudraksha-style neck adornment stands by the vehicle, smiling as an elderly woman in white holds up a large white and purple flower garland and a brass kalasha-style pot with green leaves. Men in white dhotis and white shirts stand nearby, one with palms pressed together in greeting, and a child in white is at the lower left. The setting is a welcome with garlands, a ritual arrival at a vehicle.2011-05-16August 01 20082008-08-01November 16 20092009-11-16Night-time photo at an outdoor roadside as devotees receive a person stepping out of a grey van with open side door. A man in orange robes wears a long white and red flower garland and a yellow shawl, smiling. Beside him, a bald man in orange garments wears an orange-and-beige bead necklace, while a man in white dhoti and white shirt with a yellow shawl bends forward near the vehicle. Another white-clad attendant in an orange stole holds a brass tray. A large red, green and yellow fringed umbrella overhead and green trees surround the scene. Roughly ten to fifteen people are visible.2010-12-29Night photograph of a dark grey car viewed from the front, its windscreen showing a man in an orange turban and orange saffron robes with rudraksha beads, smiling broadly from the front passenger seat, beside a young man in an orange shawl at the wheel. Several men in white dhotis and orange shawls crowd around the open car door and the bonnet, some with tilak on their foreheads. The background is dark with a few distant lit buildings. A faint Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam-style logo appears at upper left, and a copyright line is printed at lower right.2008-11-11Outdoor evening scene at night beside a silver car with its door open. A man in a saffron-orange dhoti and shawl, wearing layered gold necklaces, bangles and a leopard-print shawl, stands smiling with a tall black-haired hairstyle and white-and-red tilak on his forehead. Beside him a shaven-headed young man in saffron-orange robes with a rudraksha mala holds a silver kalasha pot topped with green leaves on a plate, offering it. Behind them a decorated festival cart with colourful fringed hangings and a deity murti is visible, and a palm tree and an information board stand nearby. Procession ritual setting consistent with a rathotsavam.2011-12-17October 05 20112011-10-05Night photograph of an outdoor arrival at a temple-style gathering. A man in an orange saffron robe and a long white flower garland stands at centre, smiling and touching his ear, walking under a multicoloured fringed canopy umbrella with a dark pole. Around him, men in white dhotis and shirts stand and carry things; a man in a yellow shawl holds a woven basket of white flowers and a yellow fruit-like offering, and another in a yellow shawl stands at right beside a white-covered table. A man at left, in white, presses his palms together in greeting beside a silver car. A man at right wears a white kurta and rudraksha mala. Chain-link fence and a white board stand behind, with a bright light overhead. Appearance-based cues on the central robed figure (saffron robe, long flower garland, canopy procession) fit a person presence, but the face is not clearly confirmed; the image shows an in_person candidate.2009-08-03
