2004 - First Sannyas Deeksha At AdiKailaasa2004-07-022004 - First Sannyas Deeksha At AdiKailaasa2004-07-02Night-time ritual at an outdoor pandal with banana leaves and smoke in the air. A shaven-headed man in a saffron-orange robe with maroon borders and a gold chain with a pendant stands at right, holding a brass aarti lamp with a flaming wick over the head of a seated young man in white kurta, yellow shawl and rudraksha mala who has his palms raised. Yellow and orange marigold petals are scattered on the stone platform in front, with brass vessels and a bell visible. Other seated devotees in orange and yellow sit behind. The orange-robed man shows no clear a person cues such as long hair or ornate crown, so his identity is uncertain.2009-09-25A seated figure in saffron-orange robes with long, swept-back dark hair, a gold-bead necklace and white ash markings on the forehead presses palms together in prayer beside an open fire pit, a homa, with orange flames. Another saffron-robed priest with a red-and-orange head wrap sits behind a bowl, and a seated audience fills the dim background. Fruit, flower garlands and a white garland sit on the altar, and a microphone stands at the right edge.2010-02-12A man in saffron-orange robes and an orange turban stands in smoky light holding a silver tray with a lit brass oil lamp of three flames. He wears a rudraksha mala and a gold-coloured garland over his shoulder and has beaded bracelets on his wrist. Behind him, an ornate decorated structure with red, yellow and white floral patterns and a gilded top forms the backdrop, with another figure partly visible beside it. Swamiji (probable): the orange turban, saffron robes, rudraksha mala and ornate garland match the presentation cues, and he is performing the aarti as the officiant.2015-04-30A photograph of a homa at night. A man in saffron-orange robes and a matching orange head wrap sits behind a fire pit, holding coconuts up before a flame. He wears a rudraksha mala and has a tilak on his forehead. A microphone stands near him. Two men in white shirts sit to the right, one with a beard, and offerings and a kalasha are visible on the stone platform. The man in orange is a person with distinctive saffron robes, orange turban and rudraksha mala, performing the homa; the appearance is consistent with the page but not certain.2004-07-02Night ritual photograph at an outdoor homa or puja site. A seated man in saffron-orange robes and an orange turban, with long hair and a rudraksha mala around his neck, breaks or prepares a coconut with both hands over a fire pit lined with stone. A brass vessel and wooden ladle sit in the foreground, and a microphone stands at left beside a gold-embroidered cushion. Behind him, two men in white dhotis sit near a carved wooden throne-like seat.2004-07-022004 - First Sannyas Deeksha At AdiKailaasa2004-07-02September 26 20092009-09-26A young man in saffron-orange turban and orange dhoti-style wrap holds a silver aarti tray with a lit lamp, the flame rising from a multi-branched silver oil lamp. He wears a rudraksha mala and a long orange-and-gold beaded necklace, with a bindi on his forehead and a rudraksha armband. Behind him, a deity murti stands framed by a large floral arch of red, yellow and white garlands. Another figure in a deep red garment and gold necklace is partly visible at right, and a man in white garland-draped clothing stands at left. The setting suggests a temple aarti during a ritual, with a gold kalasha-like base at the lower centre.2015-04-30A man in an orange saffron shawl draped over his head and shoulders holds a brass aarti lamp with a flame in one hand and a small brass bell in the other, performing a ritual.
