December 30 20082008-12-30December 30 20082008-12-30Night photo of a procession walking along an unpaved dirt road toward strings of lights and a banner. In front, a man in saffron robes wears a long marigold garland over his shoulders and bare feet; a rudraksha mala hangs around his neck. Beside and behind him, several men in saffron and orange robes carry a tray or offering, and a group of people in white dhotis and shirts walk behind them, with a figure in a yellow shirt at the left edge. Prayer flags are strung along a fence at the right. The scene shows a garlanded procession, but the figure's identity cannot be established from appearance alone.2012-01-08December 30 20082008-12-30Night photograph of a walking procession along a dirt path beside a red-and-white painted low wall. In front, a man in an orange saffron shawl and orange cloth, with long swept-back hair and a bare-chested upper body, walks forward. Behind him, two men in white kurta-style clothes with orange shawls walk; one holds a small torch or light. A man in white with an orange shawl is partly visible at the right edge. Dark trees and bushes fill the background. The front figure has distinctive long hair and saffron clothing, but the image is dark and blurred, so the identity is uncertain.2006-12-10October 30 20162016-10-30Night photograph of a group walking barefoot along a paved courtyard beside a brick wall. Six people walk in a loose line: a man in saffron robe with long hair on the left, a woman in a yellow sari, a woman in a white and green sari, two men in white dhotis with red shawls, and a central man in a long orange robe with a white headband. Another man in an orange dhoti with a white cloth in hand and a man in white with a red shawl follow at right. A lit fluorescent light sits under a covered porch and a tree trunk stands at right.2009-01-29December 30 20082008-12-30March 19 20172017-03-19Night photograph of a group walking across a sandy open ground toward a wooden frame structure with lights. Nine people in white dhotis and shirts, several with yellow or orange shawls and rudraksha-style necklaces, walk in a loose line. Two figures in saffron/orange robes lead the group, one on the left with a shaved head and one on the right with a long orange garment. Strings of lights and a lit white building are visible in the background. Nearby is a wooden pole frame.2009-08-03A dimly lit night photograph of a group walking across a dark open ground toward the left. In the foreground on the right, a man in an orange saffron robe, orange head wrap and a long beaded rudraksha mala walks alone with his head lowered. Behind him, a group of about eight people in white dhotis and white shirts or kurtas, several with orange shawls draped over their shoulders, walk in a loose line. A tall illuminated lamp post stands at the left edge. The scene is mostly dark with faint lights in the background.2008-11-11Night-time photograph of a group walking across a dirt ground toward a long low building strung with small lights. In the centre, a man in an orange saffron robe and a crystal-style pendant or mala walks with a sannyasi in orange cloth to the left, and a cameraman in white dhoti and shirt with an orange shawl films at the right edge holding a handheld video camera. Several older men in white dhotis and white shirts walk behind, one wearing a yellow shawl and another an orange shawl. A tall white light stands at left on a wooden pole. The scene appears to be an evening procession or walk at an event.2009-08-03
