Beside a black stone deity murti with a gold necklace, its arch wreathed in yellow, red, white and purple flower garlands, a red earthen mound and a small black stone pedestal carry further flower strands. Behind him, a group of devotees in white kurtas and dhotis, some in orange, stand with hands folded in anjali. A bare-chested man with a red-and-gold scarf and beaded necklaces stands at the left edge. The scene reads as a puja or padapuja at a shrine, though the figure's identity is not established from appearance.2016-12-03Outdoor temple grounds under banyan trees where a standing black stone deity murti, draped in a red backdrop and adorned with a yellow flower garland, a crown, and multiple necklaces, is being honoured. A woman in a saffron robe with long hair stands at the right, pointing toward a small shivalinga-style stone with a yellow garland and a lamp. Three men in white dhoti and shirt, a checked shirt, and a pink shirt with green lungi stand behind her, watching. A bare-footed elderly priest in white dhoti with a red border stands at the left.2018-02-01Outdoor photo beneath tall trees showing a bearded man in a rust-red turban and reddish-brown robe with a red-and-white shawl standing with palms pressed together before a black stone deity murti. The murti is garlanded with thick bands of yellow, white, red and green flowers and sits on a red rock platform with a garland at its base. Behind him a crowd of about twenty people in white kurtas and dhotis, a teal jacket and orange garments stands with hands folded in prayer on paved stone paths. Participants appear devotional, consistent with a puja. Visible cues on the standing man include a rust turban, rudraksha-style beaded necklace and gold bangles; the appearance is not distinctive enough to confirm identity, so a person is unsure.2016-12-03Outdoor photograph of a cultural procession presentation on a dirt ground in front of a large black stone statue of a seated deity with a multi-hooded serpent canopy behind its head, draped in red cloth, white and gold jewellery, and rainbow-coloured floral garlands. Seated in front on a gold-framed throne is a figure in a red-brown robe and rudraksha beads, with a crown-like headpiece, hands in a meditative pose. Standing on both sides in a broad semicircle are about 40 performers in costume: children and young adults wearing gold crowns, green, orange, yellow and blue traditional costumes, garlands, and some holding a staff, a trident-like staff, and drums. A red and yellow building and rocky hills appear in the background under hazy skies.2017-12-16 +1 copiesDecember 27 20062006-12-27Outdoor temple scene beneath a large spreading banyan tree with hanging aerial roots. On the right stands a black Shiva lingam-like murti under a carved stone arch, draped in white cloth and garlanded with marigold-orange and red flower strands, set on a dark pedestal. In front, a mound of red-orange stones or powder surrounds a small base, encircled by a white and black serpent-shaped border on a paved platform. On the left, a group of men in white dhotis and shirts stand and walk along a dirt path, a woman in a green sari stands nearby, and a few people sit on a flat rock in the sunlit clearing beyond. Bare trees and a rural building appear in the background.2007-02-16February 01 20182018-02-01
