Outdoor stone-carving yard under a corrugated metal roof on bare dirt with scrub and hills behind. A man in a saffron-orange head wrap and flowing orange robe stands at the center-left, looking toward carved stone pieces; a person based on the saffron head wrap and orange robes, though only these cues are visible. Beside him a man in maroon-brown ceremonial dress with rudraksha beads and a light shawl gestures toward the stonework, and another man in maroon garments stands behind. At left, a man in white kurta with a mala stands with arms crossed, and a few more people in white are partly visible. Many carved stone wheels, pedestals and slabs lie scattered on the ground, with a large rough block in the foreground and broken stone fragments nearby.2014-11-21A photograph of an outdoor stone-carving yard under a corrugated metal roof on supporting poles, with bare dirt ground and scrubby trees behind. Many carved granite and marble pieces lie scattered: round pedestals, lingam-shaped stones, cylindrical bases and large carved slabs. A few men stand near the left side and in the middle; one wears an orange robe and one a bare-chested red-and-gold wrap. Others wear white shirts and white dhotis. Beside him, a man in orange robes crouches low and handles a stone. Behind them, men in white dhotis and a white-shirted man with a notebook and a grey-haired older man in white with a rudraksha-style necklace look on. A rough thatched shelter with wooden posts stands overhead, with a silver SUV, a green truck and trees in the background.2008-04-06November 21 20142014-11-21A photograph taken in an open-sided stone workshop with a corrugated metal roof and a dirt floor. In the foreground, a long-haired man in a loose saffron/orange robe looks down at a carved grey stone slab. Behind him, an older man in white shirt and white dhoti, with a beaded mala necklace, stands beside stacked cut stone blocks and a machine with a control panel. Dark grey stone pieces and a yellow-and-black striped pillar are visible. The long-haired figure has long, swept-back hair and an orange robe, which are cues for a person, though the image alone leaves this uncertain.Photograph inside a open-sided workshop with a corrugated roof and wire mesh wall, where artisans are carving and finishing deity murti sculptures on the brick floor. In the foreground a bare-chested craftsman in white kneels beside a golden-brown carved figure, while another seated worker and a seated man in a plaid shirt are nearby. Several saffron-robed sannyasis stand in a line; one tall figure in a saffron wrap and saffron head covering stands with hands folded, and a few men in maroon and gold dhotis with rudraksha malas and tilak marks stand beside him. Behind them are a golden deity statue, a gas cylinder, and stacked sculptures. A person at the right edge holds a red folder.2014-11-21A photo taken inside a thatched, open-sided shed with a concrete floor and bamboo lattice walls, where a group of men in orange and yellow sannyasi-style robes stand among stone and clay sculptures and unfinished carved figures. In the centre, a man in orange robes and an orange turban, with rudraksha malas around his neck, faces a bare-backed man with long dark hair who is also wearing an orange cloth. Beside them a man in a white shirt and white dhoti stands with folded hands, and a bearded man in white and an orange shawl stands at the right. A younger man in white dhoti and a shawl stands at the left. Several sculptures and carved stone pieces lie on the ground at the bottom of the frame.2007-08-09April 28 20152015-04-28August 09 20072007-08-09Outdoor photo at a stone-carving yard under a corrugated shelter with metal poles. A woman in a maroon sari with gold borders and a dark beaded mala stands at left, gesturing toward a group of men in saffron and orange robes. Among them, a bald man in an orange kurta and shawl stands centre-front, and a second older man in orange robes with arms folded stands beside him. A third man in an orange robe stands at right with dark sunglasses. An older man in a white shirt and white dhoti stands behind them. Around them are grey stone sculptures, a carved figure in the foreground, pale stone blocks and rubble, and dry scrubland under a clear sky. The page indicates an ashram visit; I count five physical people.2015-02-05A photograph inside a large open-sided hall with brick walls and a corrugated roof. Six men in orange and saffron robes and brown dhotis stand on a paved floor. Two monks wear orange turbans; one holds a long wooden staff and gestures with his hand. A central monk in orange robes and a rudraksha mala with a name badge stands with his hands clasped at his waist. At left, a standing man in a brown dhoti and gold necklace looks down beside a gold-coloured deity murti. Workers and a green wooden cart are visible in the background.2013-10-19
