Several thick horizontal limbs extend over a sandy-red ground. Around the base, low circular stone platforms surround the trunk, and tall white pillars stand among the roots. At the far left, a small shrine holds a deity murti with orange and saffron cloth, beside a heap of red kumkum. Three people in light blue clothing sit near the shrine at left, and a few other figures are visible in the background.2009-09-07Photo 11714746July 13 20142014-07-13August 09 20132013-08-09September 29 20142014-09-29A large banyan tree dominates the frame, with a thick trunk cluster, many hanging aerial roots descending like curtains, and wide spreading branches with green leaves against pale sky. The ground beneath is bare reddish earth edged by low white curbs around the base. At the right edge, a small shrine area shows a red-painted platform and a deity murti with red and gold tones. No people are visible.2008-12-10June 07 20132013-06-07Photo 11737609A large, ancient banyan tree with sprawling horizontal limbs and many aerial prop roots dropping to the ground forms the main subject, its dense green canopy spreading across the frame. Beneath it, a circular raised stone platform surrounds the trunk base. At left, a green cloth-draped object and a red-and-white offering stand near a small shrine area. Two people in white clothing stand near the tree on the left, one in white with a red-trimmed garment. Sandy ground and white posts surround the sacred tree enclosure.2013-06-12 +1 copies
