Several thick horizontal limbs extend over a sandy-red ground. Around the base, low circular stone platforms surround the trunk, and tall white pillars stand among the roots. At the far left, a small shrine holds a deity murti with orange and saffron cloth, beside a heap of red kumkum. Three people in light blue clothing sit near the shrine at left, and a few other figures are visible in the background.2009-09-07A large, ancient banyan tree with sprawling horizontal limbs and many aerial prop roots dropping to the ground forms the main subject, its dense green canopy spreading across the frame.
