December 24 20132013-12-24December 24 20132013-12-24A night procession on a sandy road passes a brightly illuminated ratha or temple chariot with a tiered, lamp-lit roof and carved figures, decorated with string lights and flags. Ornate red, orange and gold ceremonial umbrellas on long poles lead the line, and a bright lamp glows on the ground ahead. Robed devotees line both sides: a man in saffron/orange robes with a bare upper body, a shaved-headed man in white, women in saris of orange, green and pink, and a figure with a long rudraksha-style mala. A cameraman films the group, and smoke rises near the left side. Deity murti visible on the chariot.2016-09-05September 05 20162016-09-05February 21 20162016-02-21December 31 20152015-12-31February 21 20162016-02-21September 05 20162016-09-05Night procession at an ashram: a brightly lit ratha/chariot with a tiered, dome-shaped canopy covered in lights glows in the dark background. A man in a red-orange dhoti and shawl with a red flower garland walks in front of it, holding a large ornate umbrella overhead as a palanquin-style escort. Around him stand people in white and saffron/orange robes, some in red-and-white sashes, at the edges of a dirt path. One figure wears a rudraksha mala and stands centrally, with several bystanders in white at left and right.2016-02-21Night procession moving along a dark path toward a brightly illuminated ornate ratha (temple chariot) with a tall tiered tower of lit lamps, carved figures and red and green lights. A black umbrella is held over a central figure in a rust-coloured robe with a long beaded necklace, walking at the front. Around them, many people in white and orange-gold clothing, some with rudraksha malas, walk in a line alongside the chariot, forming a festival procession.2016-02-21December 31 20152015-12-31February 21 20162016-02-21
