A man with long dark hair, a red-orange dhoti-style cloth, a gold pendant and a multicolour marigold garland stands holding the rope, with a red-and-white marking on his forehead. Two women in orange-saffron cloth with bare shoulders and braided hair, with white painted markings on their arms and faces, stand behind him with hands folded. Palm trees and foliage surround the setting, with a large red circular frame overhead and a brass lamp in the lower right foreground.
