February 06 20132013-02-06February 06 20132013-02-06A photograph of a temple ritual in a decorated shrine. Two seated deity murtis dressed in white and gold garments with silver and jewelled ornaments, garlanded with red, orange and yellow flower strands, sit on a green cushioned dais beneath a gold-framed canopy with a yellow backdrop. A standing priest with a dark turban and bare upper body, wearing a blue waist cloth and a gold necklace, faces the deities with his back to the camera. On the right, a standing attendant in white dhoti, wearing a flower garland and a folded-hand gesture, stands beside an ornate golden pedestal. Brass oil lamps and gold-framed carved panels frame the scene.2015-10-18January 11 20092009-01-11January 02 20102010-01-02 +1 copiesJuly 13 20152015-07-13 +2 copiesA devotee in orange robes stands at left with hands folded in prayer, marked with white ash on the arms, beside brass oil lamps. Under a gilded arched shrine with blue drapes, a pair of deity murti sit enthroned, one in red and gold with a crown and garlands, the other in blue with a crown. Marigold and yellow flower garlands hang on the murtis and a kalasha-style pot is placed before them, with brass vessels and an oil lamp on the floor in front. A smaller figure in orange and red garlands sits at the foot of the shrine. A second orange-robed person kneels at the right edge. The scene suggests a puja at a temple shrine.2009-01-02A photograph inside a stone temple shrine showing two priests in white ritual dhotis before a deity pair. The priest at centre holds a lit oil lamp and waves it toward the sculpted figures, while a second priest with a gold-chain necklace stands at left with bare shoulders. The deity pair sits on a black pedestal with a black shivalinga and offerings, adorned with red and orange garlands and gold ornaments, framed by a gilded arch and turquoise drape. A small white seated figurine and brass lamps sit at the base, consistent with an arati offering in a temple setting. No candidate for a person is visible in appearance-based cues; both men are described by role only.2011-09-13Photograph inside a golden-framed temple shrine showing two large deity murtis seated side by side on a raised golden platform, one male figure in a red turban and blue dhoti with silver jewelry and a rudraksha-style blue bead garland, and a female figure in a yellow and red sari with layered necklaces. A golden kalasha-like object sits in front with a red and white flower garland draped down. A man in white dhoti and shirt on the left blurs in motion, waving an object. Brass oil lamps stand on both sides, and a small seated figure in orange robes is in the foreground below the platform. The temple stone pillars and carved gold archway frame the scene.2010-07-09February 11 20132013-02-11Photograph of a puja before two gilded deity murtis dressed in blue and teal silk with red and white garlands, one holding a staff. A kneeling priest in white dhoti and shawl faces the murtis from the left foreground. On the right, a bare-chested man with white hair and a long white beard bows forward, his hands joined, before a second man in saffron-orange robes with rudraksha beads and a smiling face. A gold ornate throne stands behind them against red drapes.2013-02-06A temple shrine scene with a deity murti pair of Shiva and Parvati adorned with gold crowns, jewelry and red silk drapery, decorated with garlands of yellow, orange, red and purple flowers. A standing person in saffron-orange robes with long swept-back dark hair and a rudraksha mala holds a brass bell and a lit oil lamp, offering aarti before the murti. Beside him, a kneeling priest in orange shawl and robes, shaved head, folds his hands in reverence. A white marble statue of a seated sage sits in front of the shrine, with brass oil lamps standing on either side and a shivalinga on a stone yoni base at center. Swamiji (probable): the standing figure shows long swept-back hair, saffron robes and a rudraksha mala, cues consistent with the page's reference to Swamiji at this event, so the appearance is a plausible but not certain match.2010-02-12
