Night scene at an open courtyard with a large multicoloured kolam (rangoli) on the ground in red, yellow, green, blue and purple powder, outlined by white floral scroll lines. Several people in white dhotis and white saris stand and walk near a small stone-walled shrine with wooden frames and mango-leaf torans; inside, colourful decorated offerings and a cow are visible. Some people wear orange and saffron garments, and a man in a white dhoti stands at the shrine entrance. Festival lamps and steel vessels sit on the right, and bunches of green leaves hang overhead.

Outdoor photograph of a Pongal ceremony at dusk in a dirt courtyard. A crowd of about thirty devotees in white ritual clothes with saffron-orange shawls stands in a loose group at left, several with hands joined. In the centre, a man in white bends low before a small mound of earth with yellow marigold petals and a kumkum mark, beside a clay pot fire with smoke rising. A woman in a white sari stands at left. At right, a woman in an orange sari sits on a white-draped seat on a patterned rug. Nearby stand black-and-white cows and a young tree tied to a bamboo stake. A colourful rangoli kolam with lotus-like patterns lies on the ground, and a thatched hut sits at the left edge.

Outdoor evening ritual at an open-air ashram courtyard under a thatched-roof shelter, with mango leaf toran strung between wooden posts. A man in white dhoti and orange shawl stands at the center holding a lit oil lamp in front of a rangoli of green leaves and colourful flowers, beside a kalasha-style vessel and offerings on a leaf. Around him stand a large group of devotees in white clothes with orange shawls, hands pressed together in namaskar. A woman in a white sari with a gold border stands in the foreground. A tethered cow with painted horns and an orange cloth draped over it appears at left, and a child's head is visible at lower right.

Outdoor ritual at an ashram beside a thatched hut with dried straw roof. A woman in orange sari bends over a steel plate of cooked rice and bananas beside a small flame on the ground. Rangoli kolam patterns in white powder decorate the earth, with banana leaves holding flowers, a coconut and fruit, and sugarcane stalks lying nearby. Around them stand a line of devotees: women in white with orange shawls and rudraksha malas, a woman in a brown sari, a girl in orange trousers, and a man in white at right pouring water from a vessel. The scene resembles a Mattu Pongal cow-worship offering, but no cow is visible.

Night-time ritual outdoors beside a building with red walls and a wooden door. A large fire burns in a homa pit, with a rectangular offering arrangement of stacked items in front of it. Several men wear white dhotis, some bare-chested, and stand or sit on striped mats. A seated man in orange clothing and a rudraksha-style beaded necklace tends the fire, while a woman in an orange sari sits nearby. Garlands of white and purple flowers hang on a golden palanquin-like structure at the left, and a golden umbrella stands behind the ritual area. Festive string lights are strung above.

Outdoor evening ritual under a corrugated roof strung with colourful fairy lights. In the foreground a woman in orange robes bends down to place a small oil lamp on a white kolam floor design, beside brass pots and a green banana-leaf offering. Behind her a line of men in white dhotis with orange shawls stand with palms pressed together in namaskar, and a shaved-headed man in a white dhoti and orange shawl with a rudraksha mala stands at centre. Other devotees in orange kneel on the right. Brass kalasha pots are arranged in rows on the paved floor.

Night-time outdoor ritual at a temple courtyard with coloured fairy lights in the background. In the foreground, a fire pit (homa kunda) with ash and embers sits in the lower centre. A man in an orange-yellow dhoti and ash markings on his forehead holds a small object as he walks past the fire pit, while behind him a line of devotees in white dhotis with red shawls stands with palms pressed together. On the right, a man seated in lotus posture wears a deep red-orange turban, red robe, white dhoti and a long beaded mala, with hands folded in front of him, appearing to be a priest or devotee. A large black linga, garlanded with yellow and white flowers, stands behind the line. Onlookers in white saris and dark clothing watch from the back. Hindu ritual setting, possibly a homa or fire ceremony.
