April 22 20152015-04-22A photograph of a festival stage decorated with gold arches, a fringed canopy and green draping. At left a smiling man in a rust-orange turban, saffron-orange robe, and a heavy rudraksha mala raises one hand in greeting. Behind him, a large deity murti in a white and gold sari-style dress with a gold crown, ornate jewelry and garlands sits on a green-draped seat flanked by two smaller consort murtis in purple and green garments, all heavily garlanded with marigolds and white flowers. The man is a person candidate based on the turban, saffron clothing and rudraksha mala, though his face is not clearly evaluated here.2015-10-18A standing man in an orange-red saffron robe and matching red-orange turban waves with his right hand and smiles, wearing a large gold pendant and a long rudraksha-style mala with gold ornaments. Behind him, on a green-draped platform beneath a gilded arch, sit three ornately decorated deity murtis in gold crowns and jewelled necklaces, garlanded with marigolds and white flowers, one with a red and white crown band. A gold-framed canopy with colourful tasseled fringes stands at the top left. The murtis appear to be a festival procession or Navaratri-related display.2015-10-18 +3 copiesOctober 18 20152015-10-18Three deity murti are seated together on a green brocade throne with gold trim, draped in garlands of yellow marigold and red roses. The central figure wears a crown, heavy white and gold jewellery and a green dhoti, with raised hands. Two standing men flank the throne on raised platforms: the one on the left wears a red dhoti and shawl with a wrapped cream turban, the one on the right wears a pink-red dhoti, a saffron turban, rudraksha mala and ceremonial silver necklaces, with garlands of white and orange flowers. Their roles are priests or attendants at a wedding-festival ceremony.2015-04-30A photograph of three gilded deity murtis in a shrine arch framed by a carved gold surround and a green draped cloth. The central murti wears a tall golden crown with a shiva-linga-like ornament, a silver-and-gem necklace and garlands of red, yellow, white and purple flowers. The murti to the left wears a red-and-gold turban and jewelled bodice, and the murti to the right wears a tall gold headdress with a red-and-silver blouse. Long gold chains and flower garlands hang across all three. A small green leafy plant sits at the right edge. This is a darshan of deities, not a living person.2015-04-21A photograph of a temple-style stage before a golden shrine with a green cloth backdrop. A standing man in the centre wears a deep maroon-red turban, an orange-brown dhoti and shawl, a heavy gold-toned necklace and gold bangles, and garlanded with white and yellow flower strands.
