A large dark green stone lingam, decorated with a band of red and white flowers and yellow marigold garlands, stands in the foreground on a plinth with a white tablet inscribed with text. Above it, on a metal-railed steel stair platform, a standing figure in orange robes pours liquid from a vessel onto the lingam, as in abhishekam. A second person in orange robes stands behind on the stairs. Tall grey industrial structures rise in the background under an overcast sky.2010-08-24 +1 copiesA large dark grey stone Shiva lingam is decorated with a yellow and red marigold garland wrapped around its base and dome, and fresh rose petals scattered over its top. White horizontal tripundra lines and a white dot mark its front. A standing figure in an orange-saffron robe on a metal railed platform at left throws petals with outstretched arms. Ornate gold-and-pearl embellished decorations sit at the base. Concrete buildings with windows are behind.2010-08-24Photo 11736257June 17 20132013-06-17A large black polished lingam rises from the frame, its base wrapped in silver bands. A priest in white dhoti and shawl stands on a rusted metal scaffold platform, pouring yellow marigold flowers from both hands onto the top of the lingam. Scattered petals fall around it. A second person in an orange-saffron robe stands on the lower steps of the scaffold, partly visible at the left edge. Grey overcast sky and green trees form the background. The scene suggests abhishekam-style floral offering at a Shiva lingam.2010-09-23A large dark black stone lingam under construction in an outdoor temple setting, with three ornate gold-and-white garlands draped across its base and a horizontal white tripundra band on its face. Two men stand on a metal scaffold platform at the top left; the one in front wears an orange-saffron dhoti and bare upper body, holding a brass pot and lamp aloft, and the one behind wears a white dhoti and purple-draped shawl and holds a small vessel. Behind them are concrete block walls and exposed rebar. The scene suggests abhishekam being performed on the lingam. Gold-and-white garlands with coloured trim sit in front.2010-11-21June 24 20132013-06-24A photograph of a large black lingam with a yellow cloth-wrapped top and a garland of yellow and orange flowers on the base, taken outdoors at a temple. Beside it on a red-tiled raised platform, a man in an orange-saffron robe with long swept-back hair pours or offers liquid from a vessel onto the lingam, and a shaved-headed priest in white dhoti and white shawl stands alongside. A third person in white clothing stands further left. Concrete buildings and a green background appear behind them. This appears to show an abhishekam ritual.2010-10-22July 29 20132013-07-29A large black polished Shiva lingam stands on a black yoni pedestal with water flowing from its spout, decorated with three gold-and-red embellished ornamental fronts. Behind it, a tall metal scaffold platform holds a man in orange robes holding a lamp or ritual object, with a second man in white dhoti beside him at the left edge. Concrete building framework and red-tiered seating rise behind the lingam under a pale sky.2010-11-21Photo 11739406A large black stone Shivalinga stands on a tiered black yoni-peetha base, with water pouring over its sides and flowing down the spout. Three white and gold decorated ornaments with red and green borders are draped on the front of the linga. Behind it is a red-tiered stadium seating area and a scaffolded concrete structure. On a metal platform at upper left, several men in white dhotis and bare upper bodies stand and perform the abhishekam ritual. A distinct figure in orange-red cloth stands at the top of the scaffolding, but the appearance is not clear enough to identify anyone.2010-11-21
