December 18 20162016-12-18A photograph of a ritual blessing. A bearded sannyasi with long dreadlocks, bare-shouldered and wearing an orange-red cloth, rests his right palm on the forehead of a seated young man whose eyes are closed. The young man wears an orange shawl printed with dark motifs and a red thread bracelet. Behind them a standing figure in orange cloth is partly visible, with a brass pot or lamp stand at the right edge and a light-coloured wall. The scene suggests a devotee receiving a blessing or touch on the forehead during a temple or ashram ritual.2018-03-28May 13 20182018-05-13 +1 copiesMay 06 20182018-05-06May 06 20182018-05-06 +1 copiesPhotograph of a bearded man seen from the side and slightly behind, with long dark hair swept back and a dark brown rudraksha mala worn across his bare shoulder, his shoulder bare above an orange cloth. He faces left toward a blurred background of a wall with framed pictures. Two other blurred people sit at the left edge, and another figure in yellow appears at the right edge. Appearance-based label: a person, with long swept-back hair and rudraksha mala cues, seated in an attentive pose.2016-09-30April 24 20172017-04-24May 06 20182018-05-06 +1 copiesMarch 06 20182018-03-06May 06 20182018-05-06 +1 copiesMarch 28 20182018-03-28 +2 copiesA large crowd of bare-chested male devotees sits closely packed in a hall during a seated ritual session. In the centre, a young man with long dreadlocks and clear-rimmed glasses wears a thick rudraksha mala in reddish-brown beads, a silver pendant, and beaded wrist bands, and sits with eyes lowered. Beside him, men in glasses and gold chains sit in meditative stillness, and a man with a grey moustache wears a brown bead mala. Behind them, rows of participants fill the space, with a red cloth and a white garment visible at right. Cables and a stand appear at upper right. No a person candidate is clearly identifiable from appearance, so the figures are described by role and dress.2016-12-02
