April AF 2012 +2 copiesJune 01 20122012-06-01 +1 copiesA photograph of a ceremonial reception in an indoor hall with maroon curtains. A man in a cream-coloured turban with a jewelled ornament and a white dhoti with a gold border wears rudraksha-style red beaded bracelets and a long beaded necklace; he is receiving a garland of white flowers and orange blossoms from a man in a striped shirt at left. A younger man in a saffron/orange robe stands at right, and several onlookers in white shirts and dhotis stand in the background. The turbaned man in white and gold is a candidate for a person on appearance (probable), based on his ornate turban, jewelled adornment and beaded necklaces, but the image is not clear enough to confirm identity.2012-04-09A photograph of a ritual blessing in a temple hall with arched cream walls and a yellow curtain behind. A bare-chested man in an orange-red cloth and a white jasmine garland, wearing rudraksha beads and a tilak with a red bindi, places his right hand on the head of a seated man in a white checked shirt. The blessed man has his eyes open and looks forward. The officiant holds a folded white paper in his left hand. Several other men stand around, some with hands raised in reverence. The officiant's appearance has some cues but is not distinctive enough to confirm identity, so he is described by role.2012-05-31A seated figure in an orange-red turban and orange-red robe receives a garland and offering at a decorated altar, smiling broadly. The figure wears layered garlands of white, red, yellow and green flowers and a rudraksha mala with gold beads. A man in a white kurta and glasses, seen from behind, extends a hand holding offerings toward the seated figure. A gold vessel and small lamp stand on the altar, with a second devotee in a yellow cloth and a priest with white forehead markings at left. Yellow marigold garlands fill the background.2015-07-31July 10 20162016-07-10April 29 20162016-04-29September 27 20132013-09-27July 26 20152015-07-26November 11 20132013-11-11Indoor photograph of a ceremonial exchange in a hall with beige acoustic panels. On the left, an older man with grey hair and a clean-shaven face wears an orange robe and presses his palms together in greeting. Beside him, a man in an orange shawl and matching orange cloth on his head holds a white card, with a rudraksha mala and white flower garland around his neck. On the right, a bare-chested man in a red-orange turban and orange cloth wraps white and red flower garlands and gold bangles, and reaches toward the card. Behind them, a bald priest in white and a young man in white stand near a basket of yellow flowers and an orange cloth bundle. A small logo and copyright text are visible in the corners.2015-07-13A figure in a rust-orange wrap with a gold ceremonial necklace and layered white, yellow and red garlands stands at right, one hand resting on the head of a seated man in a blue-and-white checked shirt at left, while holding a folded white paper in the other hand. The figure wears gold bangles and has long swept-back dark hair and gold earrings, and gives a blessing. Behind them, a man in white with a red shawl and other devotees stand in a hall with a gold-and-red ornate display at the right edge. The appearance cues are distinctive, so this is a person presenting a blessing, with a devotee receiving it.2013-07-21
