Many devotees, mostly women in white and cream clothing with some in red and yellow saris, sit with palms pressed together in namaste. A microphone stands in the lower right foreground, and a tall ceremonial pole with curled decorative loops rises behind the platform. Priests in white dhotis with red-bordered shawls stand at a raised platform holding ritual implements and trays, with a small fire or lamp glowing at the left edge. Dozens of white-clad devotees sit on woven mats in rows facing the platform, many with shaved heads and some wearing white garments and neck lanyards. Behind them stand banners and a tall brass lamp stand, and a tented area with orange and pink draping. Sacred leaves hang from a pillar at the left. The scene is a Vedic homa or puja gathering. Several dozen people are visible.2010-09-05November 05 20102010-11-052009-GLIMPSES-OF-NAVARATRI-CELEBRATIONDecember 22 20102010-12-22
