A temple ritual before a golden deity shrine. A long-haired man in saffron robes and a red-and-white garland stands centre, smiling, touching a gold plate held by a younger saffron-robed assistant on the left wearing a gold-beaded necklace. Behind them, a golden lingam-like object is draped with yellow, red and white flower garlands and a rudraksha mala, and two larger deity statues in orange and gold garments stand on the right, one wearing a crown and holding a sacred item. Marigold and multicoloured flower garlands frame the scene under an ornate carved stone arch. Appearance-based a person cues: long swept-back hair, saffron robes, rudraksha mala and ceremonial gold necklace, in a role of officiating priest in the ritual.2012-01-01May 25 20132013-05-25 +1 copiesMay 25 20132013-05-25A standing man with long dark hair, wearing an orange saffron robe with gold border, a gold necklace and a red bindi, smiles and raises his right hand in greeting in front of a richly decorated altar. Below, a seated white statue in orange robes sits beside offerings of bananas and fruit, brass oil lamps and ritual vessels on a tray. A yellow floral wall and a painted landscape fill the background.2008-01-01May 25 20132013-05-25 +1 copiesA photograph of a shaved-headed, long-haired? no — a man with long dark hair seated before a decorated deity murti. He holds a rudraksha mala in his hands and looks down. The deity murti on the right, adorned with a gold crown, orange shawl and garlands, is surrounded by red, yellow and green flower garlands. Behind are a colourful painted backdrop and a golden throne-like seat. A man in an orange-brown dhoti and shawl, wearing a red rudraksha mala, gold armlets and a gold necklace, stands at left holding a white ritual implement over the altar. Behind the altar sits a small bronze-coloured deity murti dressed in orange cloth, framed by a large arch of garlands in red, yellow, green, white and purple flowers. The golden throne-like seat is heaped with orange, red and white marigold and rose garlands, with a kalasha-like offering and incense sticks in front. Two other men in orange robes stand partly visible at the left edge, and a third person stands at the back wearing white with a tilak. This appears to be a puja or abhishekam-style ritual.2013-05-25January 04 20152015-01-04December 05 20142014-12-05
